Female pattern of hair loss

Hair loss is most common for both men and women. But especially women are the most affected people than men. Medically hair loss is referred to as alopecia. There are a variety of reasons for particular hair loss for women.

Types of hair loss

There are many types of hair loss. Among the many types telogen effluvium is the commonest type of hair loss for women.

Telogen Effluvium

Telogen effluvium is a temporary thinning of the hair in the scalp because of changes in the growth cycle of the hair, which leads to increased shedding of the telogen hair in the growth cycle. It can be acute or chronic. Acutely there is a history of hair loss between three months and chronic there is history of more than three months.

Treatment

  1. Supplements like biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium, amino acids etc.

  2. Follow good rich food and eat lots of fruits, salads, sprouts etc.

  3. Use hair root strengthening serum

  4. Use mild and medicated shampoos

  5. Avoid hair styling gels

Alopecia areata

It can occur at any age group, especially in teenages and young adults. This pattern of hair loss is mainly common in people with hyperactive thyroid, diabetes or down's syndrome.

Anagen effluvium

This kind of hair loss mainly affects the scalp, face and body. Main reason for this kind of hair loss is from the side effects of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. It is a temporary hair fall.
